Beadweaving :: Variations with Color

A few weeks back I showed you all a bracelet that my friend Christine taught me called "Gallery." It has become a favorite of mine to wear as it is so comfortable and easy to slip on. I have to admit that it surprised me just a bit since pink is simply not my color. But I am finding that I can wear the bracelet with much more than I thought it would match up with.

At the time that Christine showed me how to make the Gallery pattern (a square stitch), she showed me another one called "Something Fine" that uses simple ladder stitch to anchor rows of stringing (right). One more comfy bracelet, and I used exactly the same beads. But this time the dominant color is the multi-brown/ pinkish beads. It gives the look a deep, rich color tone for Fall. The other thing I added was a large vintage pink button, also gifted by Christine. She is bringing out my inner pink I had no idea was there!

Love it! The color scheme is so beautiful. I've had that happen to me before when using a color I don't think I care much for I then become a fan of it. :)

Gorgeous... this is a two-in-one for me as I somehow missed your other post, Cynthia (not sure how that happened).

This bracelet is beautiful. I love that big flower button! I think we all girls have that pin inside of us.

These colors are great in the Gallery and in the Something Fine :-) I never thought I was pink either but pair it with that brown/bronze or with grey (as Sunshine Girl is doing today with a cool peyote bracelet she is making) and I'll wear it!
Beautiful Bracelets, My Friend :-D

Hi Cynthia,
Yes bring on out that inner pink! Pink Power! LOL Both bracelets are beautiful and the stitching is awesome on both. I have made the Something Fine bracelet before and my Sister took it right off of my arm and claimed it as hers.

Your color combinations and the designs of the bracelets give them a wonderful vintagey sort of look. I love the huge flower button bead you used on your second bracelet. It truly is Something Fine!
