Summer Design Series :: Beach Boho

So, this is the second in a series of multi-strand necklaces I've created with Sea Glass from ZnetShows. This one uses some beautiful silk to tie at the neck by Marsha Neal. I love the combo of necklace and Kate's cute baby-doll dress. Hard to believe just how grown up she is these days.

My daughter Kate has been doing quite a bit of modeling for me lately. And I have to admit that I am so enjoying spending the time with her. I don't have a lot of time left as she'll be off to college come August. I am feeling so nostalgic about her leaving, and it probably doesn't help that we've been cleaning out her bedroom and we're finding all kinds of things from when she was younger. It seems like yesterday that she was still small enough to crawl up in my lap and snuggle. So many sweet memories.

  1. I love the color of this necklace. Very pretty! Kate is a beautiful model too! It's wonderful you'll have all these photos of her before she heads off to college. She'll have to model something for you on her trips home though!

It must be hard to let go as Kate begins her college life. Thank goodness these days there's skype to keep in touch!

  4. What a great necklace and a beautiful young woman. So nice that you two are finding time together this summer before she heads out to college. Also, was not familiar with ZnetShows and will need to check it out. The sea glass is wonderful!

  5. That necklace is great! Is your daughter going far away to school or staying somewhat local?

  8. These kind of transitions can be challenging, such a time of growth. A new exciting chapter in your relationship. Maybe when she brings college friends home you will have the pleasure of gifting some of them with your amazing creations. You might become legendary on campus :-)

  10. This necklace has a tranquility about it while looking like the hidden depths of a lake and all the mystery inside it. All your photos of Kate have that same mix of depth/mystery/tranquility. Wishing you all a smooth (or as smooth as it can be) transition in the coming month. I am glad I will have you to talk with about these changes coming to both our families.
