Sally's prompt for this week's Focusing on Life challenge is to capture love, or to show the things in our life that made us feel the love.
There is absolutely, hands down, nothing else in my life that makes me smile more than to see how much my two girls love each other. They greet each other each morning with hugs, and end each day the same way.
We have a 'wind down' ritual at our house.... a bit of reading before bed. And 9 out of 10 times when I'm looking for Anne she will be in her sister's room quietly reading by her side. Although I admit often it is peals of laughter that only sisters can share. So last night when I saw her slip into Kate's room I grabbed the camera and followed her in and snapped the picture just as she settled in. You can see the slight smile on Kate's face as she saw I was coming up close behind snapping that flashy thingy.
I do also want to thank everyone for all the amazing comments the past few weeks. It has been so much fun to get to know some of my bloggy friends better with these posts, and meet new friends too...happy Saturday everyone!

Cynthia, I love that they hug each other in the morning and before they go to bed at night. That is beautiful and so are your daughters!
ReplyDeleteSweet picture of your girls. What a wonderful capture of the feeling that siblings often share.
ReplyDeleteSisters are so very special. It's wonderful when they have a close relationship at a young age.
ReplyDeleteI only have brothers so I never knew that sister thing. Your girls are beautiful
ReplyDeleteO my goodness, you are so right. I LOVE hearing my girls going hysterical with laughter over things only both of them get. Just last night they were laughing and shrieking in the back seat the entire way on our long drive home after a very satisfying outing -- one just has to thank God for such an indescribably wonderful blessing. Your picture of your daughters reminds me of what my own do -- the same posture, activity and expressions -- just double the size :)
ReplyDeletesounds like we are raising very similar girls. from what i witness, there is nothing at all like sister love :-)
ReplyDeletethis picture is really such a sweet slice of life shot. you have beautiful girls, cynthia!
Definitely the best friends! Life long ones!
ReplyDeleteSweet post and photo of your daughters! It's wonderful they're so close and have such a special relationship!
ReplyDeleteHi Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteSisterly love nothing can come between it. I bet the sound of their laughter is the best sound in the world. I will be spending the day with my Sister tomorrow I can not wait.
Therese
A picture of pure love, Cynthia! It's so lovely they are close to each other: both in age and in feelings; they'll grow knowing there is always your sister there to love you (I see it with a couple of friends).
ReplyDeleteYou're so blessed - and so are they! May they make you smile every day :)
The beautiful thing about sister love, is that it will NEVER be ruined by other's influences. My two daughter's (ages 42 and 36) have had their squabbles, but don't let ANYONE come between what they have.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than sisterly love! I am, 13 yrs older than my baby sister and our kids are about the same age. That is a sweet pic of your girls!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great candid picture of your two girls! No sisters in this house now, only brothers....but I do have a sister and remember these days growing up.
ReplyDeletea special love to be sure! i longed for a sister growing up - now i have friends, soul-sisters :)
ReplyDeletehappy saturday!

It's so special that they greet and end the day with hugs. It's wonderful that you could capture the end of the day with them. Beautiful girls, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo and what a super job you are doing with them...after all, you are their model for how to love well. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful ritual! There is nothing like the love between siblings. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat's so great that they get along so well! How sweet...feeling the love indeed ♥
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful! They have a very special bond that they will share forever.
ReplyDeleteHow totally wonderful
ReplyDeleteLove this picture and the fact that it is part of the daily routine.
ReplyDeleteSisters are great! There is 12 years between my sister and I and while it was a bit difficult when we were "younger" we are the best of friends now!!! Great pic!
ReplyDeleteIt's so great that your girls get along so well. My sister and I fought for YEARS. We finally got along once we were adults. Her girls have the same issue and fight constantly. It's nice to see sisters that don't have to wait to grow up to be friends.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo of them both together - really a keeper right there!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! What a wonderful photo!!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing sweeter than the love shared by two sisters. Love you picture and how you captured that love.
ReplyDeleteYour girls are beautiful, and I love the picture you captured. Sister love is the best, I know, I have three of them. I love that your daughters hug each other each morning and again before bed. That's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the rituals in your family. They will be loving adults and always have each other to lean on.
ReplyDeleteTo know they have one another to depend on and share interests with is a gorgeous feeling. ♥
ReplyDeleteI love that they give each other good morning and goodnight hugs! It must be very special to have a sister -- I only had a much older brother and my children are a boy and a girl!
ReplyDeleteSweet photo of your girls!
They look like they could be twins! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteSibling love - beautiful pic, beautiful family, thanks for letting us share this precious moment <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday ;o) Love the picture! You can feel the sisterly love! Beautiful! ( I read you like Dexter! I do too! )
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that they are so close. I'm the oldest of four daughters and we did more than our fair share of squabbling. I wish we had had what your daughters do. And such a lovely photo of them.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I love how close your daughters are.
ReplyDeleteHow precious and so nicely captured by you. Sisters are special.
ReplyDeleteDita.
How wonderful! I always loved seeing those quiet, unexpected moments of sibling love -- now that my two are grown and out of the house, it's another level of wonderful to see the affection they have for each other as adults. What gifts our children are...thank you for sharing this precious moment with us!
ReplyDeleteAh, what a sweet ritual. I had brothers, so different but also good. My twin neices used to be found all the time sharing one bed instead of their own, so sweet.
ReplyDeletethey hug each other! That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing at the hop xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo and even more beautiful relationship between sisters! Is that a Calvin and Hobbes book that your daughter is reading? I love Calvin and Hobbes! I have all of their books and even the last cartoon that was printed in the newspaper.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of your precious daughters!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That is so heartwarming, Cynthia! Your daughters are lovely! Nice to know they both love reading :)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of you hearing the news about the storm - hope you're all safe and you've still got power!
Adorable photo. It is so cute seeing siblings get along so well. I am sure they will be best friends forever. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful!! I always longed for a sister...my brother and I fought like crazy!!
ReplyDeleteSweet post, Cynthia!!! your daughters are beautiful
ReplyDeleteBesos, Marcela♥♥♥
What a sweet photo! I know how your daughters feel my sister and I are best friends and have been for over 30 years. Not a day goes by that we don't talk to each other, and make plans to see each other as often as possible.
