Summer in the Adirondacks at age 8 and 4 |
It took me a bit of time to feel like myself again after each of my daughters were born. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love being a mother. It is one of the best things in my life, which is probably why it all seems to have gone by so quickly. I feel like my two daughters went from grade school to high school in no time flat. And now my oldest is just a year away from college. Seems like just yesterday that she was so little. I love the person that she has become, but it will be such an adjustment for me when she's off to college. I guess that is what is on my mind lately.
It's a lovely bracelet and I don't have kids so I never know what to get the baby so I always try to treat the mother. They tend to get forgotten.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! I know that feeling. My youngest is leaving for university at the end of August. The older one started living on her own when she was only 19; eager to get out there! Time flies...
ReplyDeleteI never had kids either, but years ago when my former SIL had her 2nd kid, I sent a gift to her eldest who was about 18 months old at the time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers's Day, Cynthia! I love being a mom too! I love what you've been doing with leather and beads and findings. I love this one! It's so simple and elegant. I'm sure the new mom will love wearing it!
ReplyDeleteThis post is right on my alley you know! I still don't feel like myself at times with all these new adjustments...I feel great when I can squeeze a shower. Ah, I showered today to go out eat and celebrate Mother's Day. Hope you have an excellent Mother's Day celebration. Off to college ah? yikes!
ReplyDeleteFabulous combination of bracelets, love the collaboration between your work colleague and yourself! Wonderful post. x
ReplyDeleteLoving all of your leather bracelets of late - my favorite is this classic black and silver!
ReplyDeleteNo kids for me, other than furbabies, But, I hope you are having a wonderful Mother's Day!
What a sweet gift! And what a cute picture of your daughters when they were little :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! This was exactly my case - needed some time to become myself again. How wonderful that other people understand it and have been though it, too! Proves that I am normal.
ReplyDeleteI feel the time moving fast too. Too fast. So much change heading your way, our way. I cannot wrap my head around it. SO ~ To the Jewelry!!! This is THE BEST if all your leathers!!! That new Mom has style, edge, and a flair for design, for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I send baby gifts, I include a nice soap for the new mom...sometimes the only break she gets from the baby is that 90 second shower!
Happy belated Mother's Day! That bracelet is a beauty. It will go with so many outfits. I can only imagine what it feels like for your oldest to be thinking of college. Time does fly by!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Mother's Day! Time goes by too fast!! It really does! Beautiful bracelet!
ReplyDeleteTime sometimes is moving so fast... but sometimes it is so slow.... Isnt it?
ReplyDeleteLove what you are doing with leather Cynthia. What a nice gesture gifting the new mom instead of the baby. Your girls are both beautiful and you are lucky. Trust me the time goes by way too quickly so enjoy each and every moment you have!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet. With two little kids of my own, I'm still in the place of figuring out who I am as a person and as a mom. Giving a new mom a gift "just for her" is such a sweet idea. I may have to start doing that for my friends as well. Plus that bracelet is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteMy congratulations !!! You have a beautiful daughters !!!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Cynthia. Your daughters are lovely and the bracelet you created is fabulous. Dita.
